Residents in Finland have right to vote in the municipal elections
The municipal election will be held on Sunday, 28 October. In addition to Finnish citizens, entitled to vote are those citizens of EU Member States as well as of Iceland and Norway whose municipality of residence is in Finland. Other foreign citizens are entitled to vote if they have had their municipality of residence in Finland for at least two years.

Persons who have reached the age of 18 no later than election day are entitled to vote in that municipality which was their municipality of residence on 7 September 2012.
All those entitled to vote whose address is registered in the Population Information System have received a polling card by post in September or October. The polling card contains information on the polling station that must be used on the election day.
Voters must provide proof of their identity when voting. On the election day, 28 October, voters may cast their votes only at the polling station mentioned in the polling card.
