Peter J. Boldt

Peter J. Boldt, M.Soc.Sc. (Econ.) who is 55, will succeed the retired SAK Director, Ms Tuulikki Kannisto, as a member of Ecosoc, the EU Economic and Social Committee. Mr Boldt has been in the employ of SAK since 1982. Prior to this he was employed by the Labour Institute for Economic Research and also by NFS, the Council of Nordic Trade Unions.

Economist Peter J. Boldt has been a deputy member of Ecosoc since 1995; member and deputy member of the EU Social Dialogue Committee since 1995; EFTA observer on the Social Dialogue Committee, 1988 - 1992; deputy member of the EEA Consultative Committee, 1994; deputy member of the EFTA Consultative Committee 1988 - 1994.

Mr Boldt is a member of national EU policy preparatory groups on foreign trade, agriculture, the internal market and on employment. He was a member of the Finnish delegation to the WTO Ministerial meetings in 1996, 1998, 1999 and in 2001. Also a member of the National Contact Point for the OECD instruments on international investment and multinational companies.

Peter Boldt has been, and remains, the SAK representative on numerous committees of various international organisations, for example ETUC; ETUI; NFS; OECD/TUAC; and ICFTU.
